Don Gibson, CFSP

Senior Advisory Board Chairman, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Mr. Gibson attended the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of John A. Gupton College in Nashville. He is actively involved in many civic and professional organizations, and serves on the Advisory Board of the National Funeral Directors Association. He is past president of the Maryville Lions Club. He and his wife Sue are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville.

C. Lynn Gibson, DPhil, CFSP

President and Licensed Funeral Director

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Oxford Graduate School, Dr. Gibson enjoys writing for trade publications, adjunct teaching, and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Oxford Society of Scholars and the Family Business Institute. He and his wife Angelia are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville and have three sons.

Jason L. Chambers, CFSP

President and Licensed Funeral Director

Jason has lived in Maryville all his life, graduating from Maryville High School and the University of Tennessee. He is past president of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Association, and a member of Maryville Church of Christ. He and his wife Angie have two children.

Lisa Gibson, CFSP

Vice-President and Licensed Funeral Director

Lisa began her funeral service career after graduating from the University of South Carolina.  She is a Leadership Blount Alumni and a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville.

David Everett

Assistant Operations Manager, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

A member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association, David graduated from Porter High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. His wife Teresa and their son and daughter attend Piney Level Baptist Church.

Lee Berkley

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Lee is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta.  He is currently serving as Chief of the Blount County Volunteer Rescue Squad where he has volunteered for many years.  He is also a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association.  He and his wife Linda have two sons.

Jenni Bryant, CFSP

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Jenni is a graduate of Farragut High School, the University of Tennessee, and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. She received a 2006 NFDA Professional Women’s Conference Scholarship from the Funeral Service Foundation. She is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. She and her husband David have one son, and are members of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa.

Rob Caldwell

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Mr. Caldwell is Past-President of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Association. He is a graduate of Maryville High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Rob serves on the Allocations Panel of the United Way. He and his wife Susan are members of Forrest Hill Baptist Church.

Bob Garrison

Bob graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. He and his wife, Wanda, have two sons and four grandchildren.

Roger Jennings

Licensed Funeral Director

Roger is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He and his wife Regina, along with their son, are members of Maryville Church of Christ.

Brad Kuchnicki

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Brad is a graduate from Colorado Tech University and Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Indiana. Brad and his wife, Theresa, enjoy both listening to and playing music.

David Compton

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

David is a graduate of Maryville High School and John A. Gupton College in Nashville where he received the Dodge Award for “Excellence in the Art of Embalming.” He is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He and his wife Lynn have three children and are members of Central Baptist Church in Alcoa.

Ivan and his wife Joan are members of Alcoa First United Methodist Church.  He is a member of the Trail Blazers and La Consoteria Dei Ceroni.  Ivan enjoys volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity and the Blount County Senior Outreach.

Shirley and her husband Jerry are active members of Friendship Baptist Church.

Jerry Hurst

Funeral Assistant & Event Host

Jerry and his wife Betty assist clients in Smith's Life Event Center. Jerry is an avid hiker, and both are members of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Chris LaRue

Family Service Director

Chris’ career in the financial services industry has prepared him for his position as our Family Service Director. In this position he helps families prepare financially, mentally, and emotionally for the events before and after their services. He has worked as an instructor, consultant and most recently as Vice President of Business Development for a securities broker dealer. Chris is a member of several professional and civic organizations including Maryville Rotary Club and Leadership Blount (2000-2001). He and his wife, Jennifer, and their son and daughter are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville where he also serves as deacon.

Tracy Gardner

Executive Assistant

A Certified Professional Secretary and member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, Tracy is a graduate of Heritage High School and Pellissippi State Community College. She and her husband Brad have a son and daughter. The family attends West Miller’s Cove Primitive Baptist Church.

Jessica Holman

Administratiive Assistant

Jessica joined the Smith companies in 2008.  She and her husband Darrin, have three children and are members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville.
